Robert S. Millard, MD
Dr. Robert Millard graduated from college at Michigan State University and attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. He did his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of California, Irvine. He did a one year post graduate fellowship in spine, sports and occupational rehabilitation with his current group. He began his private practice in 1993 and is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Millard has served as team physician for the following: Santa Clara University; DeAnza/Foothill Colleges; Serra High School; College of Notre Dame and the Silicon Valley Ballet Company. He was a team physician for the San Francisco 49ers from 1993 to 2008. Dr. Millard has been on the San Jose Sharks (NHL) medical staff since 2005.
Dr. Millard has written text book chapters on cervical, lumbar and peripheral joint injection techniques. He lectures nationally on topics varying from non-operative management of spine injuries to the management of common injuries seen in the NFL, common injuries seen in the NHL and NFL. He also has made appearances on TV and radio to discuss the diagnosis and management of common sports injuries, especially those seen in NFL and NHL athletes.
